GreenTorch™ LED MR16 Light Bulbs

The new GreenTorch Optique and Balance Series MR16’s are ultra-energy efficient and feature the newest in LED technology. Using only 3 watts of power, these powerful and compact bulbs efficiently deliver high-quality light and are offered in different color temperatures.

Comparable to a 20-35 watt incandescent Halogen MR16 bulb which lasts about 3000 hours, GreenTorch’s Optique and Balance Series bulbs consume 90% less electricity and are rated for a 48,000 hour life span. Through reduced energy and material costs, GreenTorch LED MR16’s pay for themselves in less than a year, depending on the number of hours operated.

The Optique Series features three pigment infused optic lenses that create a warm, sunset colored light in the shape of a bell curve, perfect for spotlighting artwork and accent applications, while the Balance Series spreads white light evenly over larger surface areas. Both models can be used to create a customized lighting scheme attuned to your liking. Since LED’s produce very little heat, it is easy to touch and re-position these MR16’s. How they two series differ?
The optique gets it name from the three optical lens treatments placed over the LEDs to create a cat's-eye type effect. The color gradient in the lens darker outer perimeter to a clear inner helps to create the beautiful focal point assoicated with accent lighting. These lenses also help direct the light for a larger throwing distance. The further you place the light, the larger the effect. It is perfect for creating an area of graduated color of a sunset outer to a white center. To help balance out this effect and increase the lumens covering the subject, you would use the 3000K Greentorch Balance series LED MR 16s. The reflector lens on this unit are intended to throw a uniform brilliant white backdrop to the subject. The color is not tinted blue, purple, or dingy yellow. The LEDs are very well balanced to serve the subject's natural colors.

The Pharmaka Art Gallery project we did features paired combinations of Optiques and Balance series MR16 LEDs. The Optiques provided the focal point whereas the Balance Series provided the CRI and Luminance. The resulting effect was a favorable presentation of the art works pigment ad texture without causing excessive reflection or burdening the eye with distracting reflections of the light source. We installed these lights onto the standard track lighting fixtures.
