Greentorch is proud to offer LEED consulting to its customers. What is LEED? LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is the new benchmark in going green. LEED Certification provides independent, third party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. Benefits include:

  1. Lower operating costs and increased asset value
  2. Reduced waste sent to landfills
  3. Conserved energy and water
  4. Healthier and safer environment for building occupants
  5. Reduced harmful greenhouse gas emissions
  6. Ability to qualify for tax rebates, government incentives and zoning allowances
  7. Increased marketability and PR value
  8. Improved overall productivity

LEED Certification is awarded by an accumulation of credits by the USGBC, the United States Green Building Council. The USGBC is a world renowned non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings available to a whole new generation. USGBC also administers tests for individuals and organizations to become LEED certified. Greentorch is a member of the USGBC and has a LEED AP on staff. It is part of our commitment to not only improve the environment, but to provide you with products that can help achieve this standard of efficiency.

Building construction as well as product choices are key components in achieving LEED certification. Greentorch offers two different types of eco-friendly products that help attain LEED credits - commercial safety lighting & general illumination lighting.

Greentorch’s line of non-electrical, photoluminescent exit signs help achieve a number of credits. The exit signs are produced from over 90% recycled content and use NO electricity. These attributes help earn points in:

  1. EA Credit #1- Energy and Atmosphere: Optimize Energy Performance (1-10 points)
  2. MR Credit #4- Materials and Resources: Recycled Content (1-2 points)
  3. ID Credit #1.1- Innovation in Design: Exceptional Performance (1-4 points)

Greentorch strives to provide resources to educate customers about green building LEED certification, while cutting down your energy bills.
