Sustainable Sites Credit 4.3- Alternative Transportation: Low Emitting & Fuel Efficient Vehicles

Similar to SS4.1 and 4.2, SS4.3 strives to reduce pollution and land development impacts from the use of automobiles. SS4.3 offers three different options, with any one of the three earning a project the credit.

Option 1 provides preferred parking for low-emission cars to 3% of FTE occupants. Option 2 provides preferred parking for 5% of low-emission cars. Options 3 provides charging and refuel stations for 3% of the low-emission vehicles. Low-emission vehicles are defined ZEV, Zero Emission Vehicles, by the California Air Resources board. The car can also achieve a score above a 40 on the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) guide in order to be classified as low-emission.
