Safety Lights

Safety lights are lighting fixtures that illuminate corridors and stairwells during emergency situations such as fires or earthquakes and are commonly referred to as emergency lights. Emergency lights are required for facilities that do not have a backup generator to provide electricity during power outages. Emergency lights have been mandated by local, state, and federal building/fire codes for more than 50 years. Greentorch manufactures different models of emergency lights that are suitable for all types of installations.

Our basic emergency lights are constructed from durable yet affordable thermoplastic. Thermoplastic is a sturdy material capable of handling temperatures up to 176ยบ F. The EL-1 is our most popular thermoplastic emergency light. The EL-1 uses two 5.4-watt incandescent lamp heads that are easy to position. The EL-1 comes in black or white and can be surface mounted to walls, ceilings, and junction boxes. The EL65 is a thermoplastic emergency light with a compact profile and powerful MR16 lamps. The EL20 is our lowest profile thermoplastic emergency light featuring a trapezoid design with recessed lamps.

For a higher aesthetic, we offer a number of recessed emergency light models. Recessed emergency lights are a popular choice of architects and lighting designers. Recessed models incorporate powerful emergency lamps into an unobtrusive housing. Greentorch recessed emergency lights can installed into both suspended ceilings and drywall surfaces. The RMDEL features two gyroscopically mounted MR16 bulbs and comes with LED indicator lights to let you easily know the units functional status. The CRMEL is similar; it features one MR16 lamp and is constructed to fit into six-inch cans. The CRMEL is great for retrofit and new construction applications. The MR series comes with multiple lamp head sizes for use in restaurants, bars, and other commercial applications.
