Recessed exit signs are the most popular choice for those looking to install exit signs with a high aesthetic appeal. Recessed exit signs feature a mounting that can be installed flush with the installation surface, either a wall or ceiling. Greentorch offers two different types of recessed exit signs. Recessed Edge-Lit exit signs can be easily installed into both drywall and suspended ceiling applications. Recessed tritium self-luminous exit signs are non-electrical exit signs that can be installed into drywall applications.

The VELE series recessed Edge-Lit exit signs is the most affordable recessed Edge-Lit model offered by Greentorch. The VELE series is suitable for suspended ceiling installations and is available with a white, black, or brushed aluminum housing. The exit face panel can be ordered in both single and double sided versions. Double sided models include a reflective mylar insert that enables legible viewing of the word “EXIT” from both sides. Red or green energy efficient LEDs provide bright, even illumination. The VELE series comes standard with a nickel-cadmium battery backup system for emergency operation when power to the facility is lost. The VELE is offered in an AC only model as well. An included push-to-test button indicates the functionality of the battery backup system.

Greentorch’s tritium powered self-luminous exit signs feature non-electrical lighting technology that is completely self-contained. Our recessed tritium self-luminous exit sign model comes with a custom made recessed aluminum pan housing that allows for flush installation into drywall surfaces. This exclusive Greentorch recessed pan housing is offered on both models of our self-luminous exit signs. The SLE has a 125-foot UL Listed viewing distance and the SLX has a 100-foot UL Listed viewing distance with slightly smaller dimensions. Both the SLE and SLX come with face color choices of red, green, black, or white and product lifespans of 10, 15, and 20 years.
