Recessed Exit Sign

A recessed exit sign is an exit sign that features a mounting that installs flush into the wall or ceiling. Recessed exit signs are popular with architects, lighting designers, and those looking to install exit signs that do not decrease the aesthetic of an interior space. Greentorch offers both recessed Edge-Lit and recessed self-luminous non-electrical exit signs.Recessed Edge Lit exit sign

Recessed Edge-Lit exit signs use an acrylic panel with the word “EXIT” that is screen printed and illuminated by an LED slight strip enclosed in the recessed housing. Greentorch offers Edge-Lit models that are capable of being installed into drywall and suspended ceilings applications.

The Greentorch VELE series is affordable and efficient. Available with red or green LEDs, the VELE provides bright and even exit illumination for 8 to 10 years. This model comes standard with a nickel-cadmium battery backup for emergency operation when AC power is lost. The recessed housing is available in white, black or brushed aluminum and is suitable for installation in suspended ceilings.

SLX Tritium Exit SignFor applications to which electricity is not currently unavailable, Greentorch offers two models of recessed non-electrical exit signs that are code compliant across the United States and Canada. Our self-luminous non-electrical exit signs use tritium, a type of hydrogen gas, combined with a phosphor compound to create light. The tritium is enclosed in tamperproof borosilicate glass tubes that are arranged to spell the word “EXIT”. The sign is constructed from impact and fire-resistant ABS thermoplastic. The SLE model features a 125-foot UL Listed viewing distance. The SLX model features a 100-foot viewing distance and is slightly more compact than the SLE.
