A recessed emergency exit sign is an exit sign which, when installed, is recessed into either the ceiling or wall. Recessed Edge-Lit exit signs are the most popular type of Edge-Lit exit sign. These signs provide a superior aesthetic when compared with traditional exit signs because the only part of the exit sign you see is a thin and sleek acrylic panel with the word “EXIT” illuminated. The VELE series features white, black, or aluminum recessed housing colors and red or green LED illumination. This model is offered in both single and double face versions. A step up from the ALE is the CAO-CSP series, also known as the Architect’s Dream. The CAO-CSP is available for suspended and drywall ceiling installation and comes with additional housing color choices of nickel, bronze, and gunmetal, among others.
