Portable Emergency Light
A portable emergency light is a light fixture that can be plugged into the wall to charge its internal battery and then illuminates, utilizing the battery, when power is lost or the unit is unplugged. Permanent hard wire to your AC electrical system and look the same as portable versions. Greentorch can be ordered with an add-on cord set, which enables the unit for portable operation. Portable are a popular choice for party rental and event companies. All Greentorch are code compliant and for the United States and Canada.
The systems inside our are what enable them to operate in emergency situations. The batteries charge while connected to AC power and need only 24 hours to fully charge. Once fully charged, our will operate off battery power for a minimum 90 minutes. systems are certified and test by UL to maintain this minimum standard. Greentorch systems can be outfitted with large batteries that can last much longer than 90 minutes.
If you are installing into your facility make sure that you are complying with a local, stat, and federal building codes. If you have been instructed to install this does not mean you can simply plug an emergency light into the wall. The reason for this is that that are plugged in can easily be disconnected, which could cause egress problems during a power outage. So, if this is your situation make sure you mount your emergency light to the ceiling, wall, or to a junction box. All Greentorch come standard with mounting hardware and instructions.
