Photoluminescent Sign

A photoluminescent sign is a sign that glows in the dark. These signs use a photoluminescent pigment that absorbs ambient light and then releases that light when placed in dark conditions. Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs are ideal for installations where electricity is not readily available and ambient light is present. Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs are UL Listed for both high and low level applications. The Blade series is the most eco-friendly friendly exit sign Greentorch manufactures and is constructed form 99% recycled aluminum. The Blade is available in two models. The 50-foot viewing distance model features glowing letters and background face colors of red, green, or black. The 75-foot viewing distance features letter colors of red or green with a glowing background. Both models come standard with a die-cast brushed aluminum frame and optional flush mount low profile frame.

We also offer a full line of Local Law 26 compliant photoluminescent signs. Local Law 26 was enacted in New York City after 9/11 to increase the ease of egress during an emergency. Photoluminescent signs do not require any source of power and are thus more reliable than standard battery backup or generator systems. Our Local law 26 signs are great for many uses, from identifying fire extinguishers to providing secondary exit pathway markings.

Our photoluminescent stair nosing improves the ease of visibility for stairs. This can further increase the ease of exiting a building in emergency situations. Studies have shown that our photoluminescent fire extinguishers improve occupants and/or firefighters ability to identify and extinguish a fire. For custom applications, our photoluminescent paint can be bought by the gallon so you can make virtually anything glow-in-the-dark. All of our photoluminescent safety products have a 10-year warranty and will last up to 25 years.
