Lighted exit signs are also known as illuminated exit signs. Lighted exit signs are required to be installed throughout buildings and facilities in North America and the world. International, federal, and state building codes mandate their placement, installation, and operation. Exit signs are strategically located throughout corridors and above doorways in order to guide occupants out of a building during a fire or other emergency. Lighted exit signs include both electrical and non-electrical exit signs. Greentorch electrically powered exit signs use light emitting diode (LED) technology to illuminate the word “EXIT”. Our LED light strips provide bright and even illumination for a lifespan of 8 to 10 years. LED colors are red or green. If you currently have green exit signs stick with green and vice versa. Multiple exit sign colors can confuse patrons during a time of escape. Housing color choices are up to you and include white, black, and brushed aluminum among others.

The EXIT series LED lighted exit signs is an affordable choice that offers reliability and low operating costs. The internally mounted red or green LED light strip uses less than five watts electricity to operate. The thermoplastic housing is durable and resistant to temperatures up to 176º F. The EXIT series can be top, back, or side mounted and configured for both single and double-sided applications.

Greentorch non-electrical exit signs are illuminated by two types of technology: photoluminescence and self-luminescence. Photoluminescent exit signs are the most eco-friendly exit signs in the industry and use glow-in-the-dark technology to illuminate the word “EXIT.” The Blade series photoluminescent exit sign is constructed from 99% recycled aluminum and lasts for over 25 years. Self-luminous exit signs use a type of hydrogen gas, known as tritium, which naturally glows for 10, 15, or 20 years. The Greentorch SLE series self-luminous exit sign has a 125-foot viewing distance and aluminum mounting bracket for sturdy installation.
