- Tritium is an ideal option for locations where: it is difficult, costly, or impossible to supply electricity to a location, the environment contains materials or particles that can be ignited with electricity, the environment does not have enough light to charge a photoluminescent sign (i.e movie theater), or you do not want to pay for an electrician to install the sign. If you plan on being in a building for a long period of time, the trade-off is effective because non-electrical signs have no ongoing costs and last for 10,15 or 20 years, depending on the model.
