Greentorch carries all types of exit signs, both electrical and non-electrical. All of our exit signs are and approved for use throughout Canada and the United States.
When considering the location of your exit sign, the general rule of thumb is that there should be at least two exit signs visible at all times of occupancy. All doorways leading to the outside must be marked with an exit sign directly above the doorway. If a doorway is not visible, the path that leads along to that doorway must be marked with an exit sign and chevron arrow indicating the direction of egress. In California, all new commercial construction and major renovation projects must include high-level and low-level exit sign installations. In New York, Local Law 26 requires the installation of low-level photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) for secondary exit assistance.
After you have figured out where to locate your exit signs, next you will need to decide what type of exit sign to purchase. If you have electricity available at the installation location go with an exit sign. If you do not have electricity available, consider a non-electrical exit sign.
