It is important to determine if the bulb is in fact the non-functioning part of your emergency light. Sometimes the battery that provides emergency power to the unit be the root of the problem. Batteries have an average lifespan of about five years. If your unit is older than five years, check the battery first to make sure that it is working correctly.

Greentorch manufactures all types of emergency light bulbs, from basic to heavy-duty. Most emergency lights use incandescent bulbs that are less than 20 watts while heavy-duty emergency lights can use bulbs as large as 30 watts. Most high-end emergency lights, such as low profile and recessed models, use MR16 compact MR16 lamps.

If the cost of replacement light bulbs is high, consider purchasing a new emergency lighting fixture. The EL-1 series emergency light is our most affordable fixture, beginning at less than $20. If you want to increase the power and luminosity of your emergency light fixture, simply replacing the bulb with a higher wattage version will not do the trick. The size and power of the internal battery that provides a minimum 90 minutes of emergency power is only designed for the bulbs that come with unit. If you want to increase the wattage of your lamp heads, you will also need to increase the battery size as well.
