Emergency Exit Sign with Lights

An emergency exit sign with lights is an emergency exit sign combined with an emergency light. This two for one solution is great for those who are looking to provide both exit signage and egress lighting for emergency situations. Thermoplastic Combination Exit Sign Exit signs are required by local, state, and federal building codes to provide a visual means for identifying a building’s exit pathway. Emergency lights are also required by the same codes and provide illumination along the path of egress, also called the exit path.

Both exit signs and emergency lights are required to be illuminated during an emergency when AC power is lost to the facility. To do this, they utilize powerful yet compact batteries that provide emergency power. Combination exit signs with emergency lights come standard with battery backup and must be hard wired into your electrical system. The battery is there to provide a minimum 90 minutes of emergency operation, not to power the unit constantly.

Greentorch offers many different types of combination exit signs with emergency lights. An option to consider when purchasing is the configuration you would like the two emergency lamp heads to be positioned. The two lamp heads can be mounted on the side of the exit sign or on the top of the exit sign. Additionally, Greentorch offers a combination model with adjustable lamp heads that can manually moved from side to top mounting and vice versa.

Lamp type is another important option to consider. We offer models that feature standard round PAR lamps and models that feature more compact MR16 lamps. MR16 lamps have a lower profile and smaller dimension, so they can fit into tight spaces more easily than round PAR lamps.

Letter color and housing color are two other options that must be specified when ordering. When choosing letter color, either red or green, consider whether or not you have exit signs currently installed at your property. If so, stick with the same color which is required by law and will eliminate confusion of patrons at the time of an emergency. If you do not have signs currently installed, you have the freedom to pick either red or green. Green is the most popular letter color and uses slightly less electricity. Either way, our efficient red or green LEDs will operate using less than five watts electricity on average. Housing color is up to you and is usually determined by the surrounding wall colors. The most popular housing color is white.
