GreenTorch™ Eco-Friendly Lighting and Recycling
Lighting and Aluminum: This gives our lights an amazing recyclable quality that offers a sustainable alternative to continually throwing dead light bulbs into our landfills. With aluminum based LED lighting, after 7-14 years(depending on your hours of use) you can literally, add new Greentorch LEDs and reuse the same light!
Imagine a light that keeps working for years, is energy efficient and recyclable! You no longer have to imagine because the technology is here and here to stay.
What are you going to do with that CFL that they told you was eco friendly? CFLs are steel, plastic, glass and mercury. Not to mention the hours they advertise the lights lasting are not even close to real time results.
Our lights don't use ballasts. The worst thing about ballasts is you have to throw them in a landfill every 3 years. This simplifies maintenance and reduces consumption, as well as points of failure.
When we do an installation we take all measures to ensure the outdated products we remove from the clients buildings are recycled. Our installers take the products to recycling companies. When we can, we actually reuse the existing fixture to help eliminate waste from entering landfills.
100% Reconcilability The aluminum recycling infrastructure is extremely well-established. All Greentorch aluminum products and components are fully recyclable and the value of aluminum scrap makes it extremely unlikely that aluminum will ever wind up in a landfill.
Low Maintenance Because they don’t rust like carbon steel, aluminum products don’t require periodic scraping and re coating. Surfaces can usually be cleaned with mild detergents and a simple water rinse. Solvents, acids, bleaches, abrasives and other harsh chemicals that could harm the environment are not required.
No Corrosion Loss The metal loss that occurs when conventional carbon steel rusts can add potentially toxic elements to the environment and the lost metal can never be recycled. Aluminum’s corrosion losses are negligible and 100% of the original material will be available for eventual recycling.
Light Weight Aluminum products tend to be lighter in weight than those made from other materials. Energy use and other impacts associated with transport and installation can often be lowered when aluminum products are specified.

- Recycled Content, 20% (post-consumer + ½ pre-consumer) (1 point) "Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes an additional 10% (total 20%)" This is just one example of how our solutions help your building go LEED Platinum!
