GreenTorch™ LED Wall Sconces
LED Wall Sconces
Greentorch's PAR 20 LED Bulbs work well in many accent wall sconces. The small size of the bulb allows for a simple retro-fitting. The three high-output LEDs are capable of providing a nice throw about 15 feet away. Not all sconces will permit the directional light output pattern of LEDs. Sconces with an emphasis on directing light will benefit from LED. From the picture you can see how the wall sconces are ideal for the Par20 design. There are two bulbs per sconce, one facing upwards and another downwards. Even in this configuration, lenses and diffusers can help achieve a wide array of effects. It is said often that LEDs must be matched for their application. This does not mean that LED does not generate sufficient light. How it distributes the light is the difference. This would be true of any fixture that does not match the light pattern needed. Here the desired effect is to heighten the walls with bouquets of lights. The fixture has a tight light pattern to focus the light vertically. The light reflects off the upper walls and adds to the ambience. The color temperature also contains complimentary hues. The idea is to consider the team of lights and find the right fixtures that collectively through their accents contribute to the whole package. For example, the lighting coves at the top are ideal for Greentorch Light Strips. If you need help with your application, Greentorch has lighting design, architectural design, CAD, LEED and Energy consulting services available.
